Three Rail Box

This gearbox can be found in a number of Small Fords built before 1969. Most "standard" type boxes had an extra long gear lever protruding from the angled cover behind the main casting. The one shown has the gear lever at the back of the extension casting which indicates a "Bullet" close ratio box from an Escort Mexico or Cortina 2000E. Some can also be found with an extra extension casting which mounts on the original "long shift" mount and extends the gear lever back to approximately the same position as the one shown. This I believe is also a Bullet box.

Uses. The Three rail box is not recommend for serious rally use as they tend to break with the constant load changes. They are more commonly used in historic racing.

If no photo shows or you get the [X] (no image) box, hit refresh a few times to fix it.
